LAKE MICHIGAN SALMON HARVEST BEST IN OVER DECADE Catch Rates for Chinooks Increase 60% Over Last Year "Based on catch rates, the 1996 season on Lake Michigan was the best of the last eleven years", says Michigan's Great Lakes Creel Supervisor Jerry Rakoczy. "Angling for salmon as a group was 14.59 fish per 100 angler hours, up from 12.29 from last year, and the best since 1986 when the catch rate was 18.44 per 100 angler hours"..
