New baitcast reel catches attention, and fish Quantum’s new Ultra baitcast reel is inexpensive, not “cheap.” It only takes a turn of the handle to see what we’re talking about because doing so leaves no doubt that this reel was built for real fishing.
Ultra is a four-bearing reel with quality components and features to serve the occasional or beginning baitcast angler well. It is built on a one-piece graphite frame, uses Quantum’s proven DynaMag cast control and has Continuous Anti-Reverse. Gear ratio is high-speed 6.2:1.

These are the pot of gold for rainbow chasers Rainbow trout anglers are sure to be smiling all the way to the bank, whether it be on lake, stream or river, when they have one of the new Quantum Teton rods in hand.
The Teton series has had a major overhaul for 2009 during which several key issues brought forward by anglers were addressed. And we’ll be the first to admit this newest generation is a much better rod line for today’s trout techniques and mobile anglers. For starters, rod blanks are lightweight graphite with solid graphite tips, a combination that provides durability, castability and a “forgiving” action for exceptional fish. The cork handles behind the reel seat have been shortened, and the foregrip in front extended, as requested.
The reel seat is now woven graphite construction, and rod guides have been upgraded. Reel seat hoods and guide frames are “rainbow”-anodized for added styling. A hook keeper is conveniently located on the rod blank just above the handle.
There are six models available, all spinning, ranging from a 4’6” ultralight model to a 7’ light action. The two models five feet and shorter are one-piece rods, while the longer ones are two pieces.
