New Style, New Construction, More New Models

Fenwick is introducing more new models for 2003, with new construction, from the makers of the very first graphite rods.  

Incorporating technology that is exclusive to Fenwick, the HMG line of high-quality fishing rods has expanded to cover every aspect of freshwater fishing. Now anglers have a choice of 33 models for fishing pursuits such as ultra-light trout and panfish action, high country trout on a fly, Mississippi delta redfish, north country pike & musky and largemouth from coast to coast.

HMG rods now are constructed with Fenwick's exclusive Carbon Veil Technology. Carbon fibers are integrated into the rod blank with a random, interwoven pattern. The result is 100% high modulus graphite rods with less mass that are extremely light and sensitive. These rods have improved blank strength.  

Another Fenwick exclusive on all HMG rods, except the spin/fly model, is an integrated soft-touch reel seat. These reel seats provide maximum grip comfort and control even when conditions are cold and wet.  

The hard chromium SS304 guide system is standard on HMG rods. SS304 guides are up to 55% lighter than comparable conventional ceramic guides, yet are 20 times tougher. These guides reduce line friction and dissipate heat better so that monofilament line will last 10 times longer than with other guides, 5 times longer with superlines. The concept guide spacing adds to the HMG's sensitivity and strength.  

There are 20 spinning and 11 casting & TriggerStik® models new to the HMG series.  Spinning rods range from 4 '6" to 7'0" and come in ultra light to med-heavy actions. Casting rods are available ranging from 5'6" to 7'0" including the 7'0" TriggerStik with a carbolloy tip top.  Actions range from light to extra-heavy.   Fly rods are also available and will be reviewed later.

A telescoping FlippinStik sells for about $124.95.
