Zebco New Trout Seeker Spinning Reel The problem with ultralight spinning reels is that everything about them is, well, light. By design, they are light in weight, light in stature and light in line. The latter means spools are little too, because, after all, the line that goes on them is also of micro size.
The trade-off with tiny ultralight spinning reel spools has always been the slow retrieve that comes from the dynamics of their small diameters.
Zebco is speeding things up in the ultralight world with its new Trout Seeker 3-bearing spinning reel, model TSHR10, featuring an innovative High-Rev Retrieve system. The Trout Seeker sports a larger spool on its ultralight frame to recover more inches of line per each full turn of the handle. As a result, the reels 5.2:1 gear ratio gobbles up as much as an amazing 29.3" of line per each full turn of the handle, at least a 30 % increase in retrieve speed over that of traditional ultralight reels.
Casting distance is improved, too, and it has increased line capacity (holding 265 yards of 4 lb. test) Additional benefits include smoother drag starts when the drag is needed, and reduced line twist and memory.

Its a rather unusual description for a reel, but it takes all three words to really paint a picture as to what Zebcos new Hawg Seeker technology is all about: sight and sound. Thanks to BiteAlert, catfish aficionados can now see and hear the fish bite.
Hawg Seekers BiteAlert is a built-into-the-reel bite detector that signals a strike with bright flashing red lights and an audible alarm. The waterproof technology is available in a hefty spincast reel or a beefed-up spinning reel. The feature can be turned on or off with a push of a button. And the sensitivity for the detection can be adjusted up or down according to wind, current or the degree of a fishs feeding aggression.
Two replaceable CR2032 long-lasting Lithium batteries power the lights and alarm. Since Hawg Seeker is made for serious catfish anglers with big fish in mind, they are ultra-tough reels designed for all catfish kinds and sizes.
The Hawg Seeker spincast model is a ball-bearing drive reel with an oversized frame, sturdy guts, star drag, continuous anti-reverse and 2:58:1 power gear ratio. It comes pre-spooled with 150 yards of quality 20 lb. test line. The reels dual-paddle handle is interchangeable to right or left hand retrieve. The BiteAlert lights are located across the top of the reel, right behind the front cover for perfect visibility from all angles.
The Hawg Seeker spinning reel has a ball-bearing drive, high-strength gear system, front adjustable multi-disc drag and Continuous Anti-Reverse. Its handle is changeable to right or left side.
