Sébile Magic Swimmer

Brings Magic to life in new Soft Jointed Bait

The Magic Swimmer Soft is the first soft plastic bait on the market for Sébile. The new version comes with all the advantages of the famous  Magic Swimmer hardbait, plus it can be fished weedless. The Magic Swimmer Soft is a jointed soft plastic bait that swims as good as the  original, something many said couldn’t be done.

The hand-painted color finishes for the soft version are also equally impressive  accomplishments. Together the intricate details and realistic swimming action bring life to the lure.  Available in two sizes, 105 mm and 130 mm (4” and 5”, respectively), both models have the same design features that put the  Magic Swimmer Soft as best in class of all soft plastic swimbaits. The body has an “envelope” area molded in with an opening at the belly that  receives and conceals most of a 5/0 worm hook inside the bait, requiring the hook go only through a small section of plastic in the upper back  portion for enhanced fish-hooking efficiency.

Rigging is easy because “hook holes” are molded into the lure at both the entry and exit locations. When  rigged, the hook’s point is concealed in a recessed groove in the top of the lure’s back, making it weedless. The Magic Swimmer Soft ProPack comes with lure bodies plus the innovative new SÉBILE Soft Weight System, also designed by Patrick  Sébile. The system includes a super-sharp 5/0 offset worm hook of a wire size that perfectly fits the special 1-gram tungsten barrel weights.

With a hole through the middle and special coating, the weights can be “screwed” on or off the hook’s shank for the easy addition or  reduction of weight.  Also the weights can be moved forward toward the head of the bait to create an angled fall of about 45 degrees, or slid back toward the bend of the hook to weight the lure’s belly so that the bait descends almost horizontally or level.

The Magic Swimmer Soft can also be fished weightless and casts easily by its own weight. The lure can be rigged with a variety of  hooks and jigheads and be fished many different ways in fresh and saltwater.  When rigged weedless, the lure can be cast into just about any kind of cover. The lure also makes a great “skipping bait,” for skipping under  docks, mangroves and many other overhanging obstacles. The Magic Swimmer Soft can also be Texas-rigged, Carolina-rigged and fished on a  drop-shot rig.

The Magic Swimmer Soft 105 mm ProPack comes with four bodies and a SÉBILE Soft Weight System consisting of one hook and four  adjustable tungsten weights.  The Magic Swimmer Soft 130 mm ProPack comes with three bodies, one hook and six tungsten weights. The  SÉBILE Soft Weight System is also sold separately.

Magic Swimmer Soft hand-painted colors include: Natural Shiner, Blue Back Herring, Ghostescent, Hollow Greenie, Bluegill and Electric  Rainbow Trout.

Sébile Crankster SR

For shallow thinkers

Joining the round-bellied Crankster family is a brand new SR "Shallow Runner" design represented by two models, SR 50 and SR 65. The numerical designations refer to lengths in millimeters, which means the two baits measure approximately 2 inches and 2.5 inches, respectively. Ironically, and amazingly, that’s also about how deep the two baits run, thus the Shallow Runner designation.

Sébile has achieved crankbait uniqueness with a lip design that keeps these baits running near the top but also deflects water and obstacles to give them lots of action and make them especially effective in and around cover. Add to that the lures’ noticeably noisy sound chambers and the end results are two impressive shallow-running fish-catching machines.

The SR lip features thin edges and a positioning relative to the Crankster’s sides for the purpose of creating lots of commotion against the water during retrieve, giving the bait a realistic look of having its own instinctive reactions as it swims. What fish can resist that?   Notice, too, that the hooks and split rings are somewhat oversized for the lure sizes. That’s because these baits are made for use in and around heavy cover, as well as for holding up against powerful fish in saltwater, such as snook and reds.

The Crankster SR can be waked on top, “bulged” just under the surface, or made to run 3-5 inches below just by the angler holding the rod tip up, down or somewhere in between. That means these shallow runners are perfect for swimming over the top of grass with the rod held high and then dropping the tip to fish the pockets and holes around the patches.

The Crankster SR 50 and SR 65 are available in six colorful finishes: Sea Chrome, Bass, Light Violet, Holo Gold/Black, Natural Mullet and Hot Yello/Chartreuse.

Sébile Flatt Shad Snagless

Begs for briar patch

SÉBILE introduces the Flatt Shad Snagless Series, a  modified version of the popular SÉBILE Flatt Shad vibration lures designed to go in and come out of areas where ordinary hardbaits usually won’t work because of hang-ups. By design, Flatt Shad Snagless lures take advantage of their own built-in swimming characteristics and motions to keep them and their hooks moving freely through cover.

Part of the effective maneuvering comes from the Flatt Shad’s perfectly balanced head action followed by the body’s wide side-to-side motion. The combined movement results in natural deflection of the bait off of obstacles it comes in contact with underwater. The double hooks ride truly underneath the body, which protects them from snags because of the deflections. Yet, when a fish hits the lure, the super-sharp hooks are there to take care of business.

These baits can be worked efficiently in and through cover to catch a wide variety of species, including bass, pike, calicos, snook, red drum, sea trout, zander, white bass and sea bass.  The Flatt Shad Snagless Series consists of numerous sizes and colors, including models 54 Sinking, 66 Sinking, 66 Extra-Heavy Sinking, 77 Suspending, 77 Sinking, 96 Sinking and 96 Extra-Heavy Sinking. The models range in size from 2-inches / 3/8-ounces up to 4-inches / 1 3/8-ounces.

Among the available colors in the new lure series are: Silver Liner, Sardine, Red Head, Yellow/Chartreuse, Gold/Black and Bone.

Sébile Snagless Magic Swimmer

Goes in and out of cover with ease

Meet the new Magic Swimmer Snagless Series, a modified version of the popular Sébile Magic Swimmer, for going even deeper into cover where a wide variety of gamefish like to live and feed.

After testing many different ideas, lure designer Patrick Sébile came to the conclusion that it is possible to use the lure’s body and swimming action to not only entice strikes from predators, but also to deflect the bait from hang ups on heavy underwater cover like stumps, brush and other vegetation.

Magic Swimmer Snagless design incorporates the lure’s head and body motions to serve as its own deflective mechanism to afford protection to the double-hooks hanging free on split rings underneath, allowing them to follow in the safety of the body’s path. As a result, the Magic Swimmer Snagless can be worked through a variety of cover to entice strikes without fear of snags, but still be highly effective in hooking fish when they hit the lure.

The Magic Swimmer Snagless Series comes in a variety of colors and models, including sinking and floating versions. Among them are models 82 Slow Sinking, 95 floating and 125 floating, covering a size range of 3.5 - 5".  Magic Swimmer Snagless colors include: Silver Liner, Japanese Sardine, Red Head, Hot Yellow/Chartreuse, Holo Gold/Black and Bone.

Sébile Spin Shad

Combines best of two lures

The SÉBILE Spin Shad is the ultimate tail spinner, combining the best of crankbait form and detail with a weighted lure that fishes fast and with plenty of fish-attracting flash. The Spin Shad features heavy metal alloy Bismuth inside a molded baitfish-shaped body with intricate attention to detail rivaling that of any crankbait. On the tail end and affixed to an inline swivel is the unique SÉBILE Shad Blade. The bait’s perfect balance and split ring positioning affords some vibration on the fall and during retrieve.

The Shad Blade is a lure in itself, closely resembling a baitfish by its own rights. The blade’s wide front, narrow tail and slightly cupped backside are designed to work together to allow it to turn at any retrieve speed from ultra slow to super fast. It can be used with or without the treble hook that comes attached to the blade’s split ring to serve as super efficient stinger hook capable on increasing fish-hooking efficiency by as much as 35 percent.

The Spin Shad’s main treble hook is strategically positioned behind the widest part of the bait’s belly to benefit from the body’s protective deflection in and around cover. It can be made even more snagless by clipping the lowest hook from the treble, leaving the other two pointing upward and being even more protected by the body.

The Spin Shad is an ideal lure for targeting different fishing needs like bottom bouncing in deep water; sub-surface swimming for open-water predators and long-distance casting to schooling fish. And this lure is just as at home in saltwater as it is in fresh. Spin Shad comes in two  sizes: #1 weighing 3/4 ounce and #2 weighing 1-1/4 oz.  Both models come in a variety of stunning color finishes, including White Lady, Holo Greenie, Deep Bronze, Natural Golden Shiner, Natural Shiner and Light Violet.

Sébile Primal Minnow

Activates unflappable lip

Sébile has invented what many have accepted as an unflappable feature since crankbaits came into existence – the Jointed Lip.

“Regular minnow and lipped crankbaits ‘swim’ in reaction to the lip’s resistance against water during retrieve,” explained company founder  Patrick Sébile. “As lip and body are one in that design, only a single frequency wavelength can be achieved … dependent upon the speed of  retrieve, shape of the lure, and the lip’s surface, position and angle.”

A real fish’s body operates in a different way; that its body mostly keeps straight through undulations even when  going right or left, or moves erratically when under fear. Sébile points out that the fish’s tail is always moving side to side. “Body and tail  of the fish are moving independently of each other, so both create different reactions in the water. A much more complex underwater movement  results from the short and long wavelengths,” he said.

Sébile designed the jointed lip to more closely imitate those movements, with it going first on the brand new Primal Minnow. With the jointed  lip, the lure’s body can have an almost straight to a wide rolling move, depending on speed and acceleration created by the angler’s twitches  and jerks of the rod. But the jointed lip acts more like the fish’s tail, delivering short right-to-left moves that have its own set of turbulences.

The jointed lip makes the Primal Minnow a better casting lure. A fixed lip creates air resistance during the cast and often competes against the  lure’s body for airflow efficiency, often causing the bait to tumble out of control.  The jointed lip design is free to move onto the same axis as  the lure’s body, and the result is a mass weight transfer that delivers the best equilibrium possible.   It casts like a playing dart.

The Primal Minnow is a 3" bait that floats at rest and runs approximately 2-6" below the surface on retrieve. It is designed to appeal to a wide variety of fresh and saltwater species, including largemouth bass, snook, redfish, walleye and trout. It is available in three colors with  saltwater hooks: Light Violet, Natural Mullet and Sea Chrome; and three colors with freshwater hooks: White Lady, Holo Greenie and Golden  Holo/Black Back.

Sébile Pro Shad

Puts new spin on spinnerbaits

The SÉBILE Pro Shad Spinnerbait is the result of combining years of fishing experience and research with innovative thinking about  performance enhancements to an old and simple but highly productive fish-catching concept. The Pro Shad Spinnerbait features an offset  hook followed by an offset trailer hook.

Together the design greatly improves the fish-hooking efficiency for spinnerbaits because both hooks  stay on the same linear plane instead of one being higher than the other. Add to that the fact that both hooks are dressed to mimic baitfish and  the odds get even better. Oh, and also take into consideration that the hooks are super-sharp Japanese hooks.

Also unique are the Pro Shad Spinnerbait’s body and blades. The body is shad shaped for a true reflection of the favorite baitfish of many  predatory species, especially bass. The body is heavy metal alloy construction, perfectly balanced and hard plastic coated to bring  performance and durability together as one. The spinnerbait’s wire is jointed at the top for two reasons. The angled part keeps the blades clear  of the bait’s body and the angler’s line, while the joint allows the blades to freely follow directly in line of each other to deliver a perfect  retrieve or fall.

The spinnerbait’s blades are the SÉBILE Shad Blade which is wide in front and narrow at the tail, allowing the blade to work under any speed  from ultra slow to super fast. The design creates a fair amount of resistance during retrieve but results in lots of turbulence and extremely  realistic baitfish flashes and silhouettes. The wireframe’s tie point is a closed loop to allow for the use of snaps or steel leaders for anglers  using these lures for pike and musky.

The Pro Shad Spinnerbait can be effectively fished in open water, on or near the bottom, in and around cover, and using either a steady  retrieve or vertical jigging action. The Pro Shad Spinnerbait comes in four sizes: ½ oz., ¾ oz., 1 oz. and 1 ½ oz. Each model is available in several  stunning crankbait color finishes, including Holo Greenie, Natural Shiner, Natural Golden Shiner, Hot Yellow/Chartreuse, Blue Althea and Black  Silver Eyes.

Sébile Stick Shadd Hollow

Redefines versatility

The Stick Shadd Hollow is a new SÉBILE soft plastic bait designed to be just as effective and versatile as its hardbait cousin, but with even  more advantages including weedless rigging. Actually, the Stick Shadd Hollow can be rigged and fished in just about every way imaginable:  on a jighead, on a drop-shot rig, wacky style and even on a fireball or bluefish rig.

What makes the Stick Shadd Hollow so versatile is the same “Power Keel” design of the original Stick Shadd hardbait. The Power Keel delivers the amazing and unpredictable swimming, jerking, darting and sliding action that brings the lure to life. Every angler will appreciate being able  to take advantage of concealing a hook inside the Stick Shadd Hollow so it can be fished virtually anywhere, even in the nastiest of cover. The best way to do this is with an offset worm hook, used with or without weights. Patrick Sébile has designed the SÉBILE Soft Weight System for this purpose, making it easy to add or remove weight as fishing conditions dictate.

The system’s 5/0 offset hook is inserted through the nose like in rigging a plastic worm and then brought back out below the bait’s chin.  Before re-inserting it into the bait’s belly, add as many of the tungsten soft weights onto the hook as desired and position them either forward or back on the shank depending on whether a nose descent is wanted or a horizontal belly fall. With weights in place, the hook then is inserted into the belly and is pushed upwards so the point ends up parallel to and just underneath the lure’s back.

For this rigging, the angler will then want to remove the Stick Shadd Hollow’s special “Easy Strip” from its back. The innovative Easy Strip was designed by Sébile to provide an open cutout on the back of the lure for technical riggings and better fish-hookup ratios. The Easy Strip is not removed when using the lure on jigheads or on bait rigs.

The new SÉBILE Flats Jighead is an excellent choice for use with the Stick Shadd Hollow because its unique shape does add to the action of the soft plastic lure and the head’s bait-holding collars keep the body snugly in place. The Stick Shadd Hollow is available in three sizes – 85 mm, 100 mm and 130 mm (approximately 3.5”, 4” and 5”, respectively) – to match baitfish in both fresh and saltwater. Compact and dense, all three sizes outcast other soft plastics of the same length. And because of shape and design, the Stick Shadd Hollow is great for skipping under docks, mangroves and other overhanging obstacles.

The Stick Shadd Hollow comes in ProPacks with spare bodies and the SÉBILE Soft Weight System. Model 85 mm comes with five baits, one hook and four tungsten soft weights; model 100 mm has four bodies in the pack, one hook and six tungsten weights; and the 130 mm pack includes three bodies, one hook and six weights. The included hooks do have saltwater finishes. The SÉBILE Soft Weight System is also sold separately.

Stick Shadd Hollow comes in several beautiful hand painted color finishes, including Translugreen, Trueblue, Orange Bait, Menhy, Violet Silver and Transluclear. For more information about Stick Shadd Hollow and other SÉBILE products, visit Sebile.com.

Sébile Vibrato

The Vibrato is a new concept finesse jig

As its name implies, Vibrato has a natural vibrating tendency by design regardless of how it is being fished … under retrieve, on the fall and at any speed.

The Vibrato is primarily developed for vertical fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, snook, striped bass, white bass, perch, pike, musky, salmon and trout. It is equally effective when cast, trolled or fished through the ice. It has a natural baitfish shape common to fresh and saltwater, but its body is deeply compressed with a wider belly. The lure’s balance is based on a tying point for the line or leader in the middle of its upper back. One treble hook can be found on each end: one at the head and the other at the tail.

When the Vibrato is dropped on a slack line it falls with an erratic motion. But even then and with only some contact with the spool, the bait’s unique vibrations can be felt throughout the descent. Those same vibrations are also spreading out into the water like a dinner bell for gamefish.  For jigging, as soon as the yo-yo motion is begun with rod and/or reel, the compact heavy lure reacts immediately and vibrates even under the slowest retrieve and regardless of line size. Fish it fast or slow, up and down, or leave it in the strike zone long enough to make any fish mad enough to hit the bait.

You can fish the Vibrato as slow as you would any soft plastic, but with the added insurance of having two treble hooks to take care of the action down below. And thanks to the lure’s swimming vibration and its own weight, it snags surprisingly little because of its deflection properties when it comes in contact with obstacles.

The Vibrato has a full wire that runs through its body, assuring a positive hook up with the fish of a lifetime in fresh or saltwater.

The Vibrato finesse jig comes in a variety of weights and colors, including ½ oz, ¾ oz., 1 oz., 1 ½ oz., 2 oz, 3 oz., 4 oz. and 5 oz.
