ANGLER HOOKS INTO A 35 LB BROWN TROUT
Bob Wenker of White Bear Lake MN was trolling on Lake Michigan out of the Port of Algoma , WI on August 13 when the rod went off. "It did a pretty good run on me", Wenker said. " I got the other rods out of the way and just hoped I wouldn't lose him, even after a 30 minute struggle I thought it was a big King."
Wenker was trolling in 100 feet of water off of Algoma, fishing 40 feet deep with a homemade spoon. The previous record was a 32-pound, 8-ounce brown trout caught by a shore angler off Milwaukee in 1978.
